A lifetime New Yorker, Howie joined The Best in January of 2006 bringing uber bassist extrordinare Scott Connell with him from previous band, Pu$$yTalk. He also spent 2 years as lead guitarist in NYC post-punk group Loki the Grump. Oddly, his main influences all start with the letter G: God Street Wine, Guns N Roses, Gov't Mule, Gorillaz, and Gomez. In his free time he facilitates the exchange of promotional material for currency in a corporate setting. He has taught guitar at East Rockaway Music Center for the past 6 years.
